Crypto Race 2026 — May 2 checkpoint

The climb continues to take its toll, but the peloton is no longer as compact as it seems. Gaps are gradually opening, with several assets quietly losing contact. OSMO, AVAX and ETH are struggling to keep up, unable for now to regain any real momentum.

At the center of the group, Bitcoin remains the reference. Consistent and solid, it still sets a demanding pace, but it is no longer alone at the front of the race.

This week, two assets clearly move ahead: Akash Network and Bittensor. AKT delivers the strongest move of the checkpoint, with a performance that puts it firmly in the lead, confirming renewed interest in decentralized infrastructure. TAO, more discreet but consistent, remains solidly positioned in the leading group.

Behind this breakaway, Cosmos adopts a different strategy. Without any spectacular move, it holds its position and, once staking is included, manages to move ahead of BTC in relative performance. This is not an attack, but a clean management of effort in a race that plays out over time.

The race isn’t won here yet, but it’s clearly starting to take shape.

The race remains more chaotic in the CAT2 peloton, but the selection is even more brutal. Gaps are no longer forming gradually here — they are already in place, and some assets are clearly struggling to stay in the race.

LAVA continues to suffer from the climb, with no real support level. The trajectory remains downward, and despite a few attempts at stabilization, the gap has become difficult to recover.

In the mid-group, FLUX and BAND are trying to limit the damage. Losses remain significant, but the pace is stabilizing slightly, suggesting some early signs of resistance. CTK follows a similar path, still under pressure but with a more structured behavior than before.

Higher up, GNO holds its ground better. Without any strong acceleration, it maintains a relatively clean trajectory in an otherwise difficult environment.

Finally, NLS stands out slightly. Without any explosive move, it manages to remain in positive territory, supported in part by staking, allowing it to stay at the front of this group.

The race isn’t won here yet, but it’s clearly starting to take shape.
