The halfway point is getting closer.
With only a few days left before the end of June, the Crypto Race 2026 is starting to show a clearer trend: the market is not treating every asset the same way.
Some assets are still holding up relatively well. Others are clearly losing ground. And in the middle of all this, Bitcoin remains the benchmark to beat, without actually leading this edition for now.
As every week, this ranking only includes projects followed within the Snow-Fall.io ecosystem.
The goal remains simple: to observe, week after week, which assets are holding up best since the beginning of 2026, and which ones are starting to show deeper signs of weakness.
This week, the picture is clear: AKT is alone in the breakaway, while the rest of the peloton is becoming increasingly divided.
CAT 1 — AKT Confirms Its Lead, TAO and OSMO Are Still Holding
In the first category, AKT continues to dominate the race by a wide margin.
With a performance of +90.4% since the beginning of the year, AKT is no longer just leading. It has created a real gap with the rest of the group.
Behind it, the situation is more mixed.
TAO sits in second place with -9.1%, closely followed by OSMO at -11.0%. Both assets remain negative year-to-date, but their relative resilience is still notable in a difficult market.
ATOM follows with -16.4%, then ALGO with -25.5%. These performances are not spectacular, but they are still better than BTC, which stands at -29.8% at this checkpoint.
This gives the race an interesting reading: beating Bitcoin does not necessarily mean being strongly positive. In a bearish market, it can simply mean falling less.
CAT 1 — June 20 Ranking
| Rank | Asset | Performance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | AKT | +90.4% |
| 2 | TAO | -9.1% |
| 3 | OSMO | -11.0% |
| 4 | ATOM | -16.4% |
| 5 | ALGO | -25.5% |
| 6 | BTC | -29.8% |
| 7 | ETH | -45.5% |
| 8 | AVAX | -57.1% |
So the surprise does not only come from AKT.
It also comes from the fact that several assets remain ahead of Bitcoin despite negative absolute performances. TAO, OSMO, ATOM and ALGO are not exploding to the upside. But they are taking the hit better. In a market like this, that already says something.
On the other hand, ETH and AVAX remain under pressure in this 2026 edition. ETH stands at -45.5%, while AVAX drops to -57.1%. For two major market assets, the gap with BTC is becoming hard to ignore.

CAT 2 — NLS Stays Solid, GNO Limits the Damage
The second category tells a different story.
Here, no asset is in positive territory. The market is tougher, narrower, and the gaps are much more violent.
NLS keeps first place with -5.0%. In absolute terms, this is still a negative performance. But in this category, it is clearly the strongest behavior in the group.
GNO comes second with -21.7%. The decline is more significant, but the asset remains in a relatively defensive zone compared with the rest of the peloton.
Behind them, the break is clear.
FLUX, BAND and CTK are all close to the -55% area, while LAVA remains far behind at -87.7%.
CAT 2 — June 20 Ranking
| Rank | Asset | Performance |
| 1 | NLS | -5.0% |
| 2 | GNO | -21.7% |
| 3 | FLUX | -53.3% |
| 4 | BAND | -54.9% |
| 5 | CTK | -56.2% |
| 6 | LAVA | -87.7% |
This category clearly shows how harsh the current selection process is.
NLS and GNO are still readable in the race. The rest of the group is already much more damaged.
FLUX, BAND and CTK remain close to each other, but in a heavy-loss zone. This does not necessarily mean they are out of the race, but it would take a major reversal to bring them back into the upper part of the ranking.
LAVA, for its part, remains in a much more difficult situation. At this level of decline, the question is no longer only about beating Bitcoin. The first challenge is to rebuild a credible momentum.

A Word on Staking
Staking does not change the overall structure of the ranking, but it improves the relative reading of some assets. AKT moves from +90.4% to +100.3%, further strengthening its lead. TAO, OSMO, ATOM and ALGO also remain ahead of BTC in the adjusted version, while NLS and GNO keep their status as the strongest resistors in CAT 2. CTK is also an interesting case: thanks to this effect, it comes almost level with FLUX. But the main message remains the same: staking can soften a decline or strengthen an existing lead, but it does not replace real market performance.
What the June 20 Checkpoint Tells Us
This checkpoint does not show a broad recovery.
It shows a race that is getting harder.
AKT is the only asset turning this first part of the year into a strong positive performance. Behind it, several assets are not really winning the race through upside, but through their ability to absorb the downside better.
That is the case for TAO, OSMO, ATOM, ALGO, NLS and GNO.
They are not in a spectacular trend. But they remain better positioned than BTC, and in the current context, that matters.
Bitcoin remains at the center of the comparison. It is far from last, but it is not the leader of this Crypto Race 2026 either. For now, several assets from the Snow-Fall.io ecosystem are still doing better than Bitcoin since the beginning of the year.
On the other hand, ETH, AVAX, FLUX, BAND, CTK and especially LAVA show that pressure remains strong across a large part of the market.
The race is not moving as one block.
It is splitting apart.
Conclusion — A Brutal Selection Before Mid-Year
One week before the halfway point, the Crypto Race 2026 gives a fairly clear picture of the market.
AKT is alone at the front.
TAO, OSMO, ATOM, ALGO, NLS and GNO remain in a logic of resistance.
BTC remains the benchmark to beat, but it is not dominating this edition.
And a significant part of the peloton continues to lose ground.
The race is not over yet. A crypto year can change quickly, sometimes brutally. But at this stage, the first trends are becoming hard to ignore.
The real question is therefore not only:
who is leading today?
The real question is rather:
who will still be able to hold on until the end of the year?
