The Crypto Race has changed shape once again. After the slowdown observed last week, the field is no longer moving in a single direction: several altcoins have rebounded sharply, while Bitcoin and Ethereum have given back some of their recent gains.
The data was recorded on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 00:00, in accordance with the methodology used since the beginning of the race.
CAT 1: ATOM and Avalanche Fight Back
Avalanche delivered the best performance of the week with a 30.85% increase. ATOM followed closely at +23.75%, while TAO gained 13.83% and moved back into positive territory for the year.
In contrast, Ethereum fell by 12.23%, Bitcoin by 9.32%, Osmosis by 7.63%, and Akash by 2.83%. Despite this slight decline, Akash comfortably retains the overall lead.
CAT 1 Ranking Without Staking
- Akash: +23.14%
- TAO: +8.42%
- ATOM: −15.05%
- Bitcoin: −21.84%
- Algorand: −29.39%
- Avalanche: −30.88%
- Ethereum: −31.52%
- Osmosis: −37.94%
ATOM’s recovery is particularly significant: its cumulative performance improved from −31.35% to −15.05% in a single week. Avalanche also reduced its deficit sharply, climbing from −47.18% to −30.88%.
TAO continues its comeback. After sitting at −4.76% last week, it now shows a positive return of 8.42%.
Bitcoin remains fourth, but its decline has allowed ATOM to rebuild a lead of almost seven percentage points. The gap between Algorand, Avalanche, and Ethereum has also narrowed, with the three assets now separated by just over two points.

CAT 2: BAND Advances While Nolus Stays Close to GNO
Movements were more moderate in the second category. BAND recorded the strongest weekly gain at +5.70%, followed by Nolus at +3.53% and Flux at +2.52%.
However, these gains were not enough to reshape the overall ranking. GNO remains in first place despite a weekly decline of 1.85%, while Nolus holds firmly onto second position.
CAT 2 Ranking Without Staking
- GNO: −14.10%
- Nolus: −22.18%
- BAND: −47.54%
- Flux: −54.35%
- CTK: −57.88%
- LAVA: −87.09%
Nolus has slightly reduced the gap to GNO, although the difference remains close to eight percentage points. Further down the ranking, BAND improved its cumulative performance by nearly three points, while Flux remains ahead of CTK.
LAVA continues to sit at the bottom of the table. Its 5.03% weekly decline brings its total loss since the start of the race to 87.09%.

Yields Mainly Strengthen Akash and ATOM
Including staking and other yields does not change the order of either ranking, but it widens several gaps.
In CAT 1, Akash extends its lead to +32.57%, ahead of TAO at +11.74%. ATOM benefits significantly from staking, with its loss reduced from −15.05% to just −6.05%. They are followed by Bitcoin at −21.34%, Algorand at −26.69%, Avalanche at −28.52%, Ethereum at −30.13%, and Osmosis at −35.91%.
In CAT 2, GNO remains first at −11.17%, ahead of Nolus at −20.06%. BAND improves to −40.01%, Flux to −44.54% thanks in particular to its node yield, CTK to −47.44%, and LAVA to −86.74%.
An Increasingly Fragmented Race
This week does not mark a broad market recovery, but rather a strong rotation within the field. ATOM, Avalanche, and TAO moved sharply higher while Bitcoin and Ethereum retreated.
Akash remains the clear leader of the Crypto Race 2026, but TAO is confirming its recovery and ATOM is rapidly approaching break-even once staking is included.
Behind them, the contest is becoming much tighter. A single week was enough to reshape much of the race—proof that no participant can afford to ease off just yet.
